House History: The Comprehensive

The Comprehensive House History includes twenty-five hours of professional research, including online research and one day in local or national archives, gathering information from around 50-60+ historical records, to produce a beautifully-designed, A2-size wall print telling the story of a house and a bound storybook, including a timeline of the house and its residents, a full research report and a digital file of images of all archive documents and material uncovered.

"We are blown away by all the stories and information you found. We spent hours poring over it all yesterday. I bought it as a gift for my husband's birthday, and we also gave a copy of the storybook to my husband's parents – they were moved to tears."

CAROLINE FANCOTT-BEYNON, PEASELANDS, CUMBRIA

What types of houses is it for?

The Premium house history package is for any historic property built before 1920. The combination of online and archival research provides the best chance of uncovering the fullest possible history of a property, as archives provide access to many records not available online, such as manorial records and deeds.

Your Comprehensive House History will cover, where available, details of:

  • When your house was built (which may be approximate, depending on the available evidence) and how it has changed over time.

  • The house’s owners and occupants and stories of their lives in the house.

  • Local history and events which shaped the house and its occupants.

“The package we received was so much more than we were expecting. The storybook and the file of images contain such an enormous amount of fascinating information.

And we love the wall print; it will take pride of place in the cottage.”

BARBARA PEARCE, UPTON'S COTTAGE, FALMOUTH
